Cooperation between Energa and Gdańsk Tech

Exchange of experience and knowledge and implementation of common business, research and educational goals. These are the assumptions of the cooperation agreement signed by Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa.

Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa signed a cooperation agreement with a view to developing and integrating the scientific, research and teaching environment with the economic environment, which aims to accelerate the implementation of innovative technological solutions. Joint activities assume increased innovation and technological development in the field of energy.

- Implementing innovative technological solutions that can have a real impact on the world around us requires close cooperation between science and business. As a leading technical university in the region and in the country, we are taking various actions aimed at strengthening this cooperation – says prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology. – Both Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa are actively involved in matters related to energy transformation. The concluded agreement is support and a chance for development for our scientists and students. The signing of the agreement was accompanied by a meeting with Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, with whom we talked about one of the development goals of our region, which is the installation of a quantum computer.

– Cooperation between Energa and Gdańsk University of Technology is a chance to strengthen the bonds between the world of science and business – says Sławomir Staszak, President of the Management Board of Energa S.A. – We want to use the potential of science in creating and developing innovative solutions, and at the same time support the university in educating highly qualified staff. Gdańsk University of Technology has really valuable students and scientists, for whom we want to create appropriate conditions for the development of the practical side of science.

The agreement will allow to develop innovative and research and development projects. It is also a declaration of cooperation in the implementation of common business, research and educational goals in areas, fields and scientific disciplines of mutual interest.

The cooperation also assumes joint conferences, seminars, workshops and specialist training. Gdańsk University of Technology students will be able to participate in practical classes based on the technical resources and technological installations of the Energa Group, as well as complete internships and professional training. Moreover, it is planned to organize dedicated fields of study devoted to energy and meeting the needs of the market and the Energa Group.
