Become a Mentor in the ENHANCE Cross-Border Mentoring Programme
Becoming a mentor is a unique opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with early-stage researchers who are just beginning their academic journey. Mentors are expected to support their mentees in developing research skills, career planning, and exploring various development pathways – both within academia and beyond. The programme is designed as a six-month mentoring cycle with an international reach, tailored to the mentee's goals, and includes monthly one-hour mentor–mentee meetings.
Each mentee will also complete the Extended DISC® assessment, the results of which will be discussed with a certified consultant. The consultant will provide valuable insights for both the mentee and mentor, supporting personalized programme alignment and enhancing self-awareness, communication, and collaboration.
As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to:
- Build international connections and expand your professional network within the ENHANCE Alliance;
- Develop your own leadership and communication skills;
- Make a meaningful contribution to the development of young researchers;
- Exchange experiences across diverse academic and cultural contexts.
Mentors will play a key role in guiding young scientists, while also benefiting from international networking and inter-institutional exchange.
To become a mentor, please complete the application form. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2025.
Programme objectives:
- Support early-career researchers in STEM fields by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to advance their careers;
- Provide guidance in key areas such as research methodology, grant writing, publishing, career planning, and leadership development;
- Promote inter-institutional and international collaboration to expand professional networks and expose participants to different academic cultures;
- Foster mutual learning and cultural exchange through mentor–mentee pairs from different countries and research environments.
