In the BO 2026 edition, PLN 600,000 is available: PLN 210,000 each for staff projects and young scientists' proposals, and PLN 180,000 for student projects. Each proposer should obtain the support of five university members, describe their idea, and estimate the cost of its implementation.
Submitted projects should be infrastructural in nature – investment or renovation – and address at least one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Projects aligned with the areas specified in the Strategy for Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and the University's Social Responsibility Declaration for 2024–2030 will receive an additional 10% of the votes cast for the given project. After verification by the Rector’s Committee for the Participatory Budget, the projects will be put to a vote – staff, young scientists, and students will decide which will be implemented.
Gdańsk Tech was the first university in the region to launch its own Participatory Budget. Thanks to the engagement of the academic community, many valuable initiatives have already been realized, such as the modernization of auditoriums, creation of coworking spaces and relaxation zones, installation of photovoltaic panels, collection points for electronic waste, and water dispensers. Schedule of the 10th Gdańsk Tech Participatory Budget
- 31.10.2025 – start of project proposal submissions (9:00 AM)
- 14.11.2025 – end of project proposal submissions (12:00 PM)
- 21.11.2025 – announcement of the preliminary list of projects for voting (after 12:00 PM)
- 28.11.2025 – start of voting (from 12:00 AM)
- 5.12.2025 – end of voting (by 11:59 PM)
- 12.12.2025 – announcement of the ranking list of projects (after 12:00 PM)
- 19.12.2025 – deadline for submitting written appeals (by 12:00 PM)
- 9.01.2026 – announcement of the final list of projects to be implemented (after 12:00 PM)
