Welcome Meeting for Newly Admitted International Students

International Relations Office invites all newly admitted international students to participate in the Welcome Meeting, which will take place on Monday, February 23 at 11:00 AM in the Creative Room, Hydromechanics Building (No. 11).

The Welcome Meeting is an informational event organized at the beginning of each semester by the International Cooperation Office in cooperation with student organizations. The event is open to both full-degree students and exchange students participating in the Erasmus+ Programme.

During the Welcome Meeting, students will have the opportunity to:

  • learn what matters can be handled at the Welcome Office,

  • find out how cultural differences may affect their first days in Poland,

Prof. Tomasz Janowski from the Department of Informatics in Management at the Faculty of Management and Economics of the Gdańsk University of Technology has been elected the President-Elect of the Digital Government Society for the 2026-2027 term.

The Digital Government Society (DGS) is a global, multi-disciplinary, and professional association whose goal is to develop research, public policies and good practices in the field of digital government, i.e. the use of digital technologies to generate public value, transform public administration, public policies and relations between the state and society, and implement the digital public agenda.

From Silicon Valley to strengthen research in the field of One Health

As part of implementing its Research University strategy, the Gdańsk University of Technology has acquired another world-class expert. Under the IDUB Nobelium program, Rafał Urniaż, PhD, has joined the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The experience he has gained in the USA and the UK, among other places, will contribute to the development of the interdisciplinary One Health movement, combining engineering, medicine and ecology.

The Nobelium Joining Gdańsk Tech Research Community program is one of the pillars of the IDUB initiative, which aims to attract outstanding researchers with recognised achievements to the university. This time, it is Rafał Urniaż, PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, who has joined the ranks of Gdańsk Tech, bringing unique international experience to Prof. Aneta Łuczkiewicz's team.
