Co-financing of scientific events from the Gdańsk Tech Doctoral Students’ Self-government funds

We would like to inform you about the launch of another edition of the Scientific Event Co-Funding Program for 2025 by the Gdańsk University of Technology Doctoral Students’ Self-government.

The aim of the program is to support your active participation in national and international scientific events related to your doctoral research.

The newly created SDG Publications page offers information that will make scientists' research more visible.

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are key determinants of contemporary science, covering a wide range of issues, from eliminating poverty and inequality, through combating climate change, to building innovative infrastructure and sustainable cities. Your research, regardless of the scientific discipline it represents, can significantly contribute to achieving these global objectives.

16th National Conference "Science and Passion – the Key to Success"

On behalf of the University of Information Technology and Management, we warmly invite students and young researchers to participate in the 16th National Conference "Science and Passion – the Key to Success", which will take place on May 21–22, 2025, at the Center for International Education of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów.

During the conference, young scientists will present their papers in both Polish and English across five thematic panels:

  • Innovations in Economics and Management

  • Social Communication and Media

  • Technological and IT Innovations

  • Medical Sciences and Health

  • Sustainable Development

Participants will also have the opportunity to present the results of their research during the poster session.

PhD Student from Gdańsk University of Technology to Investigate Quantum Magnetism at the American Ames Lab

Szymon Królak, MSc Eng., PhD student from the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, will carry out research in the group of Prof. Paul Canfield, an expert in the field of crystal growth and solid state physics at the Ames International Laboratory (Iowa State University). His research is part of the Bekker Programme scholarship of the National Agency for Academic Exchange.

The research project titled "Search for Quantum Critical Points in Systems on the Boundary of Magnetic Order" (Fragile Magnets: A Way to Explore Quantum Criticality) at Ames International Laboratory will be undertaken by the PhD student from the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, who is scientifically affiliated with the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics, and will begin in September.

Dr. Marcin Jaskólski, Deputy Director of the Nuclear Energy Center, appeared as a guest on the Economic Report program on TVP3 Gdańsk. The conversation covered topics such as the participation of Polish industry in the construction of a nuclear power plant, workforce development, the use of nuclear reactors for heat generation, and the management of spent nuclear fuel.
