Cooperation between Energa and Gdańsk Tech

Exchange of experience and knowledge and implementation of common business, research and educational goals. These are the assumptions of the cooperation agreement signed by Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa.

Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa signed a cooperation agreement with a view to developing and integrating the scientific, research and teaching environment with the economic environment, which aims to accelerate the implementation of innovative technological solutions. Joint activities assume increased innovation and technological development in the field of energy.

The authorities of Gdańsk University of Technology met with Deputy Minister for Digital Affairs Dariusz Standerski. They discussed plans to launch a quantum computer with enormous computing power. This will provide the university with many completely new opportunities. The meeting, as part of the series "Key development challenges of Pomerania", brought together representatives of the parliament, industry, scientists, and experts in various fields. It was organized by "Employers of Pomerania" and Gdańsk University of Technology.

- Gdańsk University of Technology did a very good job and it is ready for a technological revolution. Centers such as the Gdańsk Kraken will be of key importance for the Polish economy, which is why it is so important to expand computing power using a quantum computer. We are making every effort to ensure that new quantum computers are created in the most important academic, scientific and economic centers, including here in Gdańsk - emphasized Deputy Minister Dariusz Standerski.

According to the summary of recruitment results for the academic year 2024/2025, published in November by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, this year's recruitment for Gdańsk University of Technology received over 32.7 thousand applications from candidates. Only the University of Warsaw (over 46.4 thousand) and the Jagiellonian University (34.5 thousand) recorded more applications. At the same time, there are 36.3 thousand students studying at the University of Warsaw (according to data from the POL-on system for 2023), 33.4 thousand at the Jagiellonian University, and only 14.2 thousand students at Gdańsk University of Technology.
