Since 1991 he has been managing a research and teaching department at Gdańsk University of Technology, which in 1997 was transformed into the Department of Sound Engineering, and in 2003 into the Department of Multimedia Systems, which he has been managing until now. In the years 1994-2007 he supervised the PhD Studies in Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at Gdańsk University of Technology, which he organized.
He specializes in the field of interactive applications of multimedia technologies, in signal processing, biomedical applications, and solutions in the field of security and banking.
Professor Andrzej Czyżewski is the author and co-author of about 20 Polish and 5 international patents. Author or co-author of over 600 scientific publications in the form of articles, papers and presentations.
From the beginning of the decade, he has participated in 5 international and 6 domestic projects, cooperating with the industry (Intel Technology Poland, Samsung Polska, Young Digital Planet S. A., Microsystem sp.z o.o., PKO Bank Polski and others). The projects initiated and implemented by him have been implemented into industrial practice in the above-mentioned companies. His professional achievements include managing a total of over 40 research and research and implementation projects.
