PRELUDIUM Demystified – How to Prepare a Competitive NCN Grant Proposal

Project Management Office invites students and PhD candidates to participate in a training dedicated to the principles of preparing proposals for the PRELUDIUM call of the National Science Centre (NCN).

The training has a lecture-based, informative format and focuses on key elements of grant applications evaluated by NCN reviewers. Participants will gain structured knowledge on research project design, budget preparation, Data Management Plan (DMP) requirements, and common mistakes leading to unsuccessful applications.

A key component of the programme will be a discussion panel with researchers experienced in preparing and implementing grant projects, providing insight into the proposal evaluation process from a practical research perspective. The panel will be based on the experience of researchers who have successfully prepared and conducted NCN-funded projects.

The training covers in particular:

PRELUDIUM call rules and evaluation criteria

  • research project design and research planning
  • budget preparation and justification
  • presentation of scientific track record
  • common formal and substantive mistakes
  • Data Management Plan (DMP)
  • proposal review process and interpretation of evaluations

Participation in the training will provide a structured understanding of the PRELUDIUM call and the NCN evaluation process.
