The Teletechnical section deals with the tasks of wide-ranging telecommunications, both fixed and mobile. The department handles all the cells of Gdańsk University of Technology by:
- supervision and operation of the GUT telephone exchange and subscriber exchanges in the Student Halls of Residence,
- operation and maintenance of telephone cabling and cable ducts
- operation and maintenance of a distributed telephone network in all facilities of the University,
- operation and maintenance of the teleinformatic network (in the physical layer) in the Central Administration,
- current operation and maintenance of telecommunication networks in Student Halls of Residence: IT (physical layer), total telephone network and TV distribution network,
- preparation and implementation of public procurement of telecommunication services,
- cooperation with telecommunication operators to meet GUT needs,
- purchase of common telecommunications equipment (cameras, fax machines, etc.) for GUT and warranty and post-warranty repairs of the equipment,
- minor purchases of teletechnical materials necessary for execution of current orders,
- settlement of costs related to the use of telecommunications services between all GUT organizational units and external entities using the GUT network,
- specification of technical conditions for newly designed buildings and external networks in the GUT area for telecommunication networks,
- settling of projects related to both buildings and external networks; current supervision of works performed during the realization of investment and repair works and participation in the commissioning of these works.
