GUT in the second place among Polish universities in the field of ‘engineering’
The university has been classified in three areas: engineering, computer science and physical sciences. In the field of engineering GUT once again took second place among Polish universities, while in the field of physical sciences it recorded an increase with respect to the previous rankings by taking third place among Polish universities (last year it was the fifth position).
THE University Subject Ranking, is based on the range of indicators used in the general classification of THE World University Rankings 2020, but its methodology is adapted to individual scientific fields.
Individual scientific areas at universities are examined in terms of the quality of education, research and scientific development, citation and publication rate, innovation and knowledge transfer, as well as internationalization.
Taking second place after the University of Wrocław in the ranking in the ‘engineering’ area, Gdańsk University of Technology was ahead of Warsaw University of Technology, the University of Warsaw, AGH and the Krakow University of Technology. In the field of physical sciences, where GUT is in the third place, the leader among Polish universities is the Warsaw University of Technology, followed by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In the area of computer science, GUT went down by one place compared to last year. The number of Polish universities classified in a given area has changed. In the previous edition of the ranking, there were 8 universities, while the current ranking included 10 universities.
