The summer exam session at Gdańsk University of Technology will be held remotely: this applies to both credits for classes and exams. In individual cases, the dean of a given faculty, after obtaining the consent of the students and the academic teacher conducting the classes, may, however, decide on the form of crediting a given course in traditional mode.

During the summer semester, classes at Gdańsk University of Technology and Doctoral Schools were conducted, with few exceptions, remotely and with the use of distance learning methods and techniques. The summer examination session, which will start on 16 June 2021, will be conducted in the same way, i.e. in remote mode.

  • Exams and credits for classes in the summer session, completing individual courses and verifying the learning outcomes, will be held remotely - using electronic means of communication.
  • In a situation where the person conducting the classes would like to conduct a credit or an examination in a traditional form, they should obtain the approval of the students of a given field (through the staroste of the year). After obtaining such approval, the decision on the stationary formula is then made by the dean of the faculty, taking into account the current epidemic situation and sanitary conditions for conducting such an examination.
  • The academic teacher is obliged to contact the staroste to determine the manner of conducting the examination, up to 7 days before the start of the session (i.e. by 9 June 2021).
  • In exceptional circumstances, the Gdańsk Tech Students Self-Government encourages you to contact the Gdańsk Tech Student Rights Ombudsman at: rps@sspg.pl.
  • The mode of conducting a resit session (remote, stationary, or hybrid) has not yet been determined. The university will inform about the decision in this matter in a separate announcement, taking into account the current epidemic situation in the country.
  • Defense of diploma theses: if a student would like to defend his / her thesis in a traditional mode, he / she may obtain such an option through the consent of the dean of a given faculty, to whom he / she must submit an appropriate application.

Legal basis:

The above regulations for conducting the summer session take into account the rules set out in the Rector's Decree No. 1/2021 which are in line with the current, common legal regulations, specified in the Regulation of the Minister of National Education and Science of 25 February 2021 on "temporary limitation of the functioning of certain entities of the higher education and science system in connection with preventing, counteracting and combating COVID-19" (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 363). In the event of changes to the common regulations, having a possible impact on the change of the above rules, they will be determined by another decree of the rector of Gdańsk Tech.
