We are celebrating Erasmus Days

For the fifth time in Europe, we will be celebrating Erasmus Days (14-16 October). For this occasion,  in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network Gdańsk,  the International Relations Office prepared activities in social media with the participation of Polish and international students of Gdańsk Tech.

In 2020, as part of the Erasmus Days celebration, over 5,000 events - webinars, exhibitions, concerts, open days and other meetings, took place in 84 countries. Over 3900 events organized by universities, secondary and primary schools and other Erasmus + program beneficiaries from all over Europe have already been submitted to this year's edition of the event. The aim of Erasmus Days is to promote the effects of the program and its impact on the development of education and higher education in EU countries and partner countries.

- Gdańsk University of Technology has participated in the Erasmus program, currently Erasmus+, since 1998. At that time, several thousand students and employees of the Gdańsk University of Technology and our over 600 partner universities, took advantage of the possibility of foreign trips and arrivals for studies, internships or trainings. The Erasmus+ program is not only international mobility, but also free English language courses for university employees run by the Language Centre and the activities of the Erasmus Student Network Gdańsk, which supports Erasmus students at Gdańsk Tech - says Maria Doerffer, University Coordinator of the Erasmus + Program.

Despite the uncertain epidemic situation, in the last quarter of 2021, 17 employees of Gdańsk Tech have so far declared their willingness to leave under the Erasmus+ program - this is a success, bearing in mind that last year, at this time, no similar trips were recorded at all. There is also more and more student mobility - in the winter semester 118 students of the Gdańsk University of Technology went for studies and internships abroad. Gdańsk University of Technology has also hosted over 230 Erasmus students this academic year, including students from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, France, Slovenia and Turkey.

Students about Erasmus+

As part of Erasmus Days, the International Relations Office in cooperation with Erasmus Student Network Gdańsk is preparing a series of social media materials with the participation of students, which will be published on social media. Polish students will share their experiences of studying abroad during the pandemic, suggest what to consider when choosing a university and tell ... about their culinary surprises during their Erasmus stay. On the other hand, foreigners who study at Gdańsk University of Technology under the Erasmus+ program will tell about their countries, especially about what may be most interesting for students planning to go to study abroad - student life, living costs and what is worth visiting (and what they will not read about in official guides).IRO and ESN Gdańsk will be supported by the Promotion Office and the Student Government in the promotion of this event.

We encourage you to follow the social media (Facebook and Instagram) of Gdańsk University of Technology, IRO, ESN Gdańsk and Student Goverment on October 14-15.
