Prof. Katarzyna Zielonko-Jung becomes a member of the Climate Council

Katarzyna Zielonko-Jung, PhD, DSc, Eng. Arch. from the Faculty of Architecture was appointed to the Climate Council by the UN Global Compact Network Poland - an organization working for the environment, human rights, counteracting corruption and decent and legal work.  

UN Global Compact (UNGC) is an institution established by the Secretary General of the United Nations. The UNGCN Climate Council established within its structures is a newly appointed advisory and substantive body, providing expert opinions as part of programs conducted at UNGC Poland.

The council consists of 22 scientists from various universities in Poland, representing many scientific disciplines. Among the numerous tasks facing the Climate Council are, for example, activities for climate education in Poland and the implementation of sustainable development goals.

Katarzyna Zielonko-Jung, PhD, DSc, Eng. Arch. works at the Department of Environmental Design. She is a co-creator of the program and a lecturer at the postgraduate studies in Architecture and Proecological Construction. She is also an active architect, cooperating with various design teams and a member of the Municipal Urban Planning and Architecture Commission of the city of Gdynia. She is the author of numerous Polish and foreign publications related to the issues of pro-ecological architecture, in particular its relations with microclimatic phenomena in the urban environment.
