Meeting of university representatives with students from Ukraine
The meeting was attended by prof. Janusz Nieznański, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation, prof. Marek Dzida, vice-rector for education, Anna Modrzejewska, head of International Relations Office, Julia Bobrowska from International Relations Office, who looks after students from abroad, and Jakub Persjanow, chairman of the Gdańsk Tech Student Government.
The vice-rectors assured students from Ukraine about the support from the academic community, and also informed them about the possibilities of obtaining psychological help at the university, extending the examination session, or the individual procedure for applying for the allowance.
There were also talks about initiatives supporting people and children from Ukraine organized at the University, including the preparation of a day-room for children. Some of the Ukrainian students have already volunteered at the day-room.
– On the part of International Relations Office, we informed students that they can count on our help in completing the formalities related to the legalization of the stay in Poland, also when it comes to their family members, at the same time informing them that the entire process of accommodation in the dormitory and application of children for the day-room takes place officially via the reception desk at the Dom Harcerza hostel in Gdańsk – says Anna Modrzejewska, head of International Relations Office.
Currently, 118 students from Ukraine are studying at Gdańsk University of Technology.
