Success of Gdańsk Tech in the QS World University Rankings
The authors of the ranking analyzed over 15,200 study programs at 1,543 universities out of 88 countries.
The QS World University Rankings include 51 scientific areas, grouped in five categories: "Arts & Humanities", "Engineering & Technology", "Life Sciences & Medicine", "Natural Sciences", "Social Sciences & Management".
Among the Polish universities included in the ranking, five universities were listed in the "Engineering & Technology" category. The best of them - Warsaw University of Technology took the 199th place.
Additionally, Gdańsk University of Technology has been classified in four areas:
1. Architecture / Built Environment (201-230 range)
2. Engineering - Electrical & Electronic (301-350 range)
3. Engineering - Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing (351-400 range)
4. Chemistry (451-500 range)
Gdańsk Tech was included in the area of "Architecture / Built Environment" and "Engineering - Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing" for the first time. The university also recorded an increase compared to the previous year from the position 401-450 to the position in the range 301-350 in the area of "Engineering - Electrical & Electronic".
QS World University Ranking by Subject includes four indicators in its methodology: university reputation in the academic community, university reputation among employers, scientific citations and the Hirsch index.
