Unmanned surface vessel to enhance security of Polish ports and offshore wind farms
A team of researchers managed by Prof. Łukasz Kulas from Gdańsk University of Technology is working on an innovative, unmanned, new generation vessel - „Hornet”. It will be a first vessel of such type in Poland: with options of autonomous and semi-autonomous operation. Ultimately, the vessel can serve to inspect ship canals and offshore wind farms patrol – e.g. to detect objects which should not be present in a given area.
The vessel with its basic equipment is ready. Gdańsk Tech researchers are now working on solutions within the scope of edge and cloud technologies, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning. They plan to develop and implement a reliable wireless communication system (i.a. resistant to the signal blocker or jamming devices), for communication with numerous unmanned units simultaneously.

Changing the names of scientific disciplines
Please be informed that by the decree of the Ministry of Education and Science dated October 11, 2022 on scientific fields and disciplines and artistic disciplines, new fields and disciplines were introduced and the names of some current disciplines were modified.
Decision on appointment of the supervisor
We would like to inform you that 1st-year PhD students can collect decision on appointment of the supervisor from the Doctoral School Office. Please come during office hours.
Health and safety training for 1st semester
We would like to inform you about the obligation to take a course in health and safety (for students) on the enauczanie platform. The course can be taken in Polish or English. Please complete by December 16, 2022.
Please note that this is a mandatory subject, without which you can not get a pass in the 1st semester.
