Probe for measuring the corrosion rate wins Grand Prix INTARG®2022

Grand Prix
The invention of scientists from Gdańsk Tech under the supervision of prof. Kazimierz Darowicki - probe for measuring the corrosion rate was awarded at the 15th International Fair of Inventions and Innovations INTARG®2022. It was awarded a platinum medal for the most valuable invention in the industrial sector. Moreover, the invention received the highest award - the Grand Prix among all submitted inventions.

The INTARG International Invention and Innovation Fair is a cyclical event devoted to the presentation of the potential and achievements of technological thought and science, i.e. inventions, technologies and targeted services in thirteen fields, including industry. INTARG® exhibitors have the opportunity to submit the presented inventions and innovations (technologies, products and services) to the INTARG® competition, under which they are assessed by an international jury.

Five phases and no permanent magnets. A new type of generator has been developed at Gdańsk Tech

The scientist in the lab
A team of scientists from the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering (WEiA ) has developed a prototype of an innovative multi-phase generator. It guarantees the machine to work, by powering it during failure of one of the phases. Its production does not require permanent magnets, which makes the potential manufacturer independent from the Chinese market.

A team of scientists from WEiA, led by Roland Ryndzionek, PhD, composed of: Krzysztof Blecharz, PhD Eng., Filip Kutt, PhD Eng., Grzegorz Kostro, PhD Eng. and Michał Michna, PhD Eng., developed a prototype of a new five-phase generator. It is a multi-phase induction generator for application in a wind, water or gas power plants. It can also be utilized by the military and e.g. in tanks or armored cars. Using five-phase control winding in the prototype is innovative.

A mural was created on the Gdańsk Tech campus to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the ETI Faculty

On the wall at the back of the buildings adjacent to the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, you can already admire a colorful mural, which is the result of a team work of over 30 people. The project was prepared by the students of architecture: Hubert Barnik and Marika Domurad, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the faculty.

The mural, which we can already admire on the Gdańsk Tech campus, was created on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. The project was carried out by students of the 4th semester of engineering studies at the Faculty of Architecture, as part of optional classes conducted at the Department of Visual Arts by prof. Jan Buczkowski and PhD Edyta Urwanowicz. The classes were held in the form of a competition. FETI authorities funded prizes for the best projects.
