PLN 10.5 Million for Young Researchers' Projects in the SONATA Program

Dr. Eng. Damian Głowienka from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics, a member of the Young Researchers Team at Gdańsk University of Technology, is among six young researchers from Gdańsk Tech awarded in the prestigious SONATA 20 program of the National Science Centre. He received funding of PLN 2,380,220 for the implementation of his research project.

His research focuses on the development of innovative three-terminal solar cells based on tandem perovskite structures—advanced materials with immense potential in modern photovoltaics. Unlike commonly used two-terminal designs, the 3T architecture allows for independent control and optimization of each cell layer. This opens new possibilities both for improving energy conversion efficiency and for studying the durability of such devices.

9th Meeting of the Young Researchers Team

9th Meeting
On June 11, 2025, the ninth meeting of the Young Researchers Team took place. The main topic was a summary of the results of a survey on the barriers faced by young researchers at Gdańsk University of Technology. The meeting was honored by the presence of Professor Dariusz Mikielewicz, Vice-Rector for Science.

The ninth meeting of the Team focused on three main issues:

  • a synthesis of the survey results on barriers among young researchers,
  • presentation of promotional activity plans,
  • preparation for the next meeting within the Young Researcher Forum.

Erasmus Student Network is launching a new edition of its flagship research project – ESNsurvey. The sixteenth edition of the survey is now available and will run until July 31.

ESNsurvey is the largest student-led research project on academic mobility in Europe. Every two years, it gathers the opinions of students to support the development of programmes such as Erasmus+ and other mobility-related initiatives.

New program to support publishing and patenting activities under CBTM

The aim of the program is to support Gdańsk Tech employees in disseminating research results through the publication of scientific articles and patent applications, in line with the thematic scope of the BioTechMed Center.

The program allocation is PLN 200,000 from the BioTechMed Center budget and is intended to partially cover publication and patent application costs, in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in these regulations.
