Between flavours and history – Cultural Day 2025 at Gdańsk University of Technology

Colourful outfits, aromatic dishes, sounds from all over the world, and a huge dose of positive energy – that’s how this year’s Cultural Day can be described, which this time took place outdoors on the campus of Gdańsk University of Technology.

From the very beginning, the event was full of life – music playing in the background, the buzz of conversations, and the scents of dishes from various continents drew the attention of all visitors.

Gdańsk Tech Ranked Highest Among Polish Universities in THE Impact Rankings

Impact
Gdańsk University of Technology has been ranked in the 301–400 range in the latest edition of THE Impact Rankings 2025, which assess universities worldwide in terms of their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Alongside the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk Tech is the highest-ranked Polish higher education institution in this year’s edition.

“This marks another consecutive year of significant advancement for the university — in 2024, we were ranked in the 401–600 range, and two years ago, in the 601–800 range. We are pleased that the university’s efforts in the field of sustainable development are being recognized and highly rated in the world’s most prestigious university rankings.

The ENHANCE STEM Ambassadors Programme empowers motivated female Bachelor and Master students from ENHANCE universities to become visible role models for high school girls- especially those from underrepresented backgrounds.

As ambassadors, students share their personal journeys in STEM, engage in inspirational storytelling, and connect with younger learners through international events and outreach activities through communication channels of ENHANCE.

New program to support publishing and patenting activities under CBTM

The aim of the program is to support Gdańsk Tech employees in disseminating research results through the publication of scientific articles and patent applications, in line with the thematic scope of the BioTechMed Center.

The program allocation is PLN 200,000 from the BioTechMed Center budget and is intended to partially cover publication and patent application costs, in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in these regulations.

Ewelina Pawelczyk Honored with the Santander Award

Ewelina
PhD student Ewelina Pawelczyk, representing the field of chemical sciences and a member of the Young Researchers Team at Gdańsk University of Technology, was among the winners of the Santander Award 2025.

The distinction was awarded to the most dedicated Gdańsk Tech students and doctoral candidates for outstanding scientific, social, and artistic achievements.

The Santander Awards are more than just a symbolic gesture of recognition. Above all, they aim to acknowledge the potential of the recipients and serve as a driving force for continued learning and development. This year's edition saw over 300 applicants, from which the committee selected 30 laureates—10 PhD students and 20 undergraduate or graduate students.
