Library training for new students

The Gdańsk Tech Library offers "Library Information Skills e-course" to the students enrolled in English-language degree programmes at Gdańsk Tech Library. Information skills, or in other words information literacy, means knowing what kind of information a student is looking for, where to find it, how to evaluate, communicate and use it in a presentation, article or diploma in an ethical way. The library system should be treated as a gateway to the quality information.

River Ice Research

River Ice Research
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Gdansk University of Technology is going to hold a course: River Ice Research by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Karl-Erich Lindenschmidt from the Global Institute for Water Security, School of Environment and Sustainability, University of Saskatchewan

Prof. Lindenschmidt is a hydrological research engineer and a specialist in ice-jam flood forecasting and mitigation, which includes ice monitoring and computer modelling. He has concentrated his research and teaching work in the field of surface water modelling including water quality and geomorphology, as well as river ice in various Canadian rivers. He is the author of book “River ice processes and ice flood forecasting”.

International SOS Climate Waterfront Workshops - Gdańsk 2022

From October 8th to November 8th, 2022, intensive workshops will be held at the Faculty of Architecture at GdańskTech as a part of the international SOS Climate Waterfront project. It is an interdisciplinary project that aims to investigate Europe's waterfront struggling with climate change. The project brings together different disciplines to create new strategies for sustainable solutions for infrastructure and urban planning in Europe.

The main goal of the Gdansk’s workshops will be to develop solutions for selected locations near Martwa Wisła river. The detailed four locations are:

Long live science! 14 local universities celebrated the beginning of the academic year together

Long Live Science! - parade
On Saturday, 1 October, accompanied by the sound of carillons, the rectorial authorities, senates and academic communities of 14 universities officially opened the academic year 2022/2023. Such an event was organized for the first time in Gdańsk.  

Long live science! event,  initiated by Fahrenheit Universities and organized together with the City of Gdańsk. gathered several hundred researchers, university staff and students. Among the guests of the march were the Pomeranian Voivode - Dariusz Drelich and Mayor of Gdańsk - Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.
