Gdańsk Tech's results in QS WUR by Subject 2024

In the latest edition of the QS ranking, around 5,000 universities from all over the world met the eligibility criteria, and from these, around 1,600 of the best were selected for inclusion in the ranking list. Gdańsk University of Technology is among them!

QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks universities in both broad and narrow subjects. The evaluation criteria for the 2024 ranking included:

Female scholarship holders of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education

Julia Godlewska, Julia Gołyga and Klaudia Prusik - students of Gdańsk University of Technology are among the scholarship holders of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Scholarships are awarded for significant scientific, artistic or sporting achievements.

EURAXESS Poland is operated within the framework of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. Its aim is to support international mobility and career development for researchers. Each month, on the EURAXESS Poland website, you can find offers of grants and scholarships available to PhD students and academic staff. These offers come from various national and international institutions and organizations from around the world and cover all fields of science.

ENHANCE invites: hackathons for students (May 24-26, Warsaw)

Gdańsk University of Technology to host an international promotion strategies conference

On June 6, 2024, Gdańsk University of Technology will be hosting the “Summit on international promotion in HEI” in Competence Center STOS, under the patronage of the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Wilde. Experts from global higher education-related institutions will share their experience and knowledge on promoting university effectively. Gdańsk Tech International Relations Office is responsible for the organization and program of the event. The conference is part of the NAWA “Welcome to Poland” program.

Meeting of the authorities of the city and of Fahrenheit Universities

On Tuesday, 26 March 2024, the College of the Mayor of Gdańsk was held at Gdańsk University of Technology, during which the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology presented the current activities and needs of the Fahrenheit Universities to the city authorities. The Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, and her deputies also learned about the effects of the student competition "Railway to the South", co-organized by the Fahrenheit Universities and the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway.

The College of the Mayor of Gdańsk is a weekly meeting of Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz with her deputies and officials representing individual departments of the City Hall in Gdańsk. It aims at undertaking current activities and interventions in the everyday functioning of the city, as well as accepting reports on larger projects, e.g. infrastructure.

Recruitment for staff mobility under the Erasmus+ program is starting

Gdańsk University of Technology has received additional funding for implementing mobility within the Erasmus+ program. Therefore, the International Relations Office invites staff to submit applications for trips. Applications will be accepted from March 26 (the system will open at 12:00 p.m.) until April 12.

Due to the high interest in Erasmus+ mobility trips, Gdańsk University of Technology managed to obtain an additional EUR 50,000 in the competition organized by the National Erasmus+ Agency. The funds will be available for academic teachers and administrative staff for mobilities to program countries (action KA131).

The use of color centers in nanodiamonds. Maciej Głowacki's doctoral thesis

Man
Maciej Głowacki, another graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, wrote his doctoral thesis in English, in the discipline of automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies (AEEiTK).

His thesis, entitled "Development of novel optoelectronic sensory structures using color centers in nanodiamonds and their interactions with analytes", was prepared under the supervision of prof. Robert Bogdanowicz at the Department of Metrology and Optoelectronics at FETI. The auxiliary promoter was Mateusz Ficek, PhD, Eng.
