Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech has become a member of PRIDE Network and EUA-CDE

Networking
Doctoral School has become a member of two well-known international networks linking doctoral schools: PRIDE Network and EUA (European University Association) – CDE (Council for Doctoral Education)
PRIDE Network – Association for Professionals in Doctoral Education

The association was founded in 2017 and at the time of publishing this entry has 34 organizational members and 16 individual members from 20 different countries, with our Doctoral School becoming the organization's first member from Poland.

You can find us on the PRIDE Network website.

EUA (European University Association) - CDE (Council for Doctoral Education)

The association was founded in 2008 and at the time of publishing this entry has 289 members from 39 different countries, including 17 from Poland.

You can find us on the EUA-CDE map.

The organization's goals

It should be taken into account that these are two different networks linking doctoral schools. However, they share a common goal, which is to become a source of inspiration, a place to obtain and exchange information that is useful or even necessary for the development of the process of PhD students’ education and of the professionals involved in PhD training. It is also to promote quality in education, PhD supervision and processes that support PhD training. Presence in these organisations fosters collaboration and new contacts through networking in a broad sense.

Among the activities of both organizations, we can highlight:
  • exchange of experience and knowledge, incorporation, support and promotion of good practices and proven solutions, establishment of professional service standards,
  • helping higher education institutions understand the role and potential of staff involved in handling the process related to doctoral education and upskilling,
  • collecting and sharing resources related to the organization of PhD training and promoting learning opportunities that enhance the competence of professionals in this area,
  • supporting the professional development and promotion of university employees,
  • facilitating relationships and interactions among doctoral schools staff.

As a Doctoral School, we constantly aim to improve the competence of our team and strive to introduce solutions that are internationally recognized practice, which translates into a systematic improvement in the quality of PhD training.

We will keep you updated on our less visible activities, so we encourage everyone to follow our website and social media sites.

The membership fees has been financed within our new STER project: "Gdańsk Tech Doctoral School closer to Europe" (PG_go_West) funded by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and implemented under the Programme "STER - Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools".
