A researcher from Gdańsk Tech joins the European Commission’s panel of experts on the AI Act
The AI Act Scientific Panel advises the European AI Office and national authorities on the implementation of legislation relating to artificial intelligence, as well as on the assessment of the impacts and risks associated with general-purpose AI (GPAI) models. The panel’s tasks include, among other things, identifying systemic risks, providing opinions on the classification of GPAI models, supporting work on methods for their assessment, and participating in market oversight activities.
The panel’s experts were selected on their expertise in areas crucial to the safe and responsible development of artificial intelligence, including assessing the capabilities of AI models, risk assessment methodology, mitigating technical risks, cybersecurity, risks associated with misuse, and emerging systemic risks.
