Yellow zone until 16th October only
Introduction of the so-called yellow zone throughout the country entails a number of restrictions that must be followed in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The guidelines mainly apply to areas such as public space, transport, gastronomy, trade and services, organization of large events, etc. - there are no additional guidelines imposed on universities.
Out of concern for the safety of students and all GUT employees, the university authorities call for absolute compliance with the rules applicable to all persons remaining in the area covered by the so-called yellow zone - not only within the campus, but also outside it. The seriousness of the situation is evidenced by the fact that Gdańsk was very close to falling into the red zone, where Sopot still remains.
In the last 14 days (between 25 September and 8 October) the following were recorded:
- 572 cases of infections in Gdańsk
- 273 in Gdynia
- 54 in Sopot
The most important restrictions and guidelines applicable in the yellow zone (effective from Saturday, 10 October), which must also be strictly observed around the campus and other GUT facilities:
- the obligation to cover the mouth and nose indoors and outdoors: both in the yellow and red zones (and therefore also on the GUT campus and inside buildings). Only people with a medical certificate do not have to wear face masks,
- the need to keep social distance, regularly disinfecting hands,
- limiting the number of people staying in restaurants at the same time (1 person per 4 m2
in both zones),
- restrictions on the organization of conferences (including scientific ones), fairs and congresses - maximum 1 person per 2.5 m2 in the yellow zone (in the red zone they are absolutely prohibited),
- the prohibition of making premises available for events and discos by owners of places that do not have permits,
- sports and cultural events: yellow zone - 25 percent audience; red zone - no audience
Additionally, by the decision of the university authorities, visits by external guests to the dormitories of Gdańsk University of Technology were suspended until further notice.
At the same time, the authorities remind the permanent residents of GUT dormitories to observe the sanitary regime in the place of residence.
In addition, GUT authorities remind people who are visiting the university on a daily basis about the applicable rules for its functioning during the pandemic.
