Kamil K. Kolincio, PhD, Eng., co-authoring an article in "Nature" devoted to the discovery of a metallic p-wave magnet

kamil Kolonicio
Kamil K. Kolincio, PhD, Eng., from the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, is a co-author of the article entitled "A metallic p-wave magnet with commensurate spin helix", the subject of which is the discovery of unconventional p-wave magnetism in the rhodium-doped Gd3Ru4Al12 compound. The article was published on 22 October in the prestigious British journal "Nature" (p. 837 in volume 646). A total of twenty-three authors collaborated on it, mostly from the University of Tokyo and the Japanese RIKEN institute.

A characteristic feature of the magnetic ordering found in this compound is the arrangement of localized spins into a helix, commensurate with the crystal lattice, and accompanied by an unconventional– odd-parity spin splitting of electronic bands.

ENHANCE BoD Meeting

people
On 29 October, the Board of Directors (BoD) of ENHANCE gathered at Gothenburg to reflect on the current objectives and a long-term vision of the alliance with special focus on the ENHANCE impact.

BoD, composed of the rectors, vice-rectors, Advisory Assembly and Student Forum representatives, chaired by the Rector of Gdańsk Tech, prof Krzysztof Wilde, discussed the latest developments and strategic directions of our future actions. In particular, key questions on how to increase the number of and interest in the ENHANCE offers, and how to shape our approach to research and innovation to deliver on all angles of the ENHANCE mission were addressed.
