The ENHANCE Research Internship Committee


On Monday, July 14, a meeting of the Social Committee for the Support of the Construction of the Metropolitan Baltic Opera was held. During the meeting, the results of the expert team's work were presented. Based on urban planning documents, technical conditions, opinions from the Pomeranian Regional Heritage Conservator, and on-site assessments, the team unanimously recommended Plac Zebrań Ludowych as the most suitable site for the project.
Applicants for full-time and part-time first-cycle programmes at Gdańsk Tech could choose from 45 degree programmes offered by eight faculties. The admissions offer included two new interdisciplinary programmes introduced in response to current labour market demands: Cosmetic Technologies, a programme combining chemistry, biology, and engineering with innovations in the cosmetics industry; and Engineering Management, the international version of the previously offered Zarządzanie Inżynierskie.
MINIATURA is a funding scheme of the National Science Centre (NCN) aimed at researchers holding a doctoral degree and employed at Polish scientific institutions. It offers grants ranging from PLN 5,000 to 50,000 to support individual research activities, such as preliminary and pilot studies, library and archive queries, research internships, research visits, and consultation visits.
On Monday, 21 July, a letter of intent regarding the construction of a modern sports and events facility was signed at the Academic Sports Centre of Gdańsk University of Technology. The document was signed by Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, and Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdańsk. During the event, the winning entries from the competition for the architectural and urban design concept of the arena were also presented.
Formula Student Netherlands is a prestigious international engineering competition in which student teams from around the world compete in the design, construction, and testing of formula-style race cars. This year’s edition was particularly significant, as it marked the final chapter of the event’s more than ten-year history in the Netherlands. According to organizers, the decision to end the competition was due to financial constraints.
