Open Research Data

The term Research Data means all data gathered, observed or created when the research process in progress, with the aim of receiving original scientific findings. Depending on how they were created or what they were created for, research data can be distinguished as observational, experimental, simulation or referential data.

About us

The main goal of Open Science Competence Center created in the framework of the MOST DANYCH project at Gdańsk Tech Library is to offer guidance and support to researchers about publishing in an open access, preparing Data Management Plan and making data accessible in the research data repository.

About the Library

The Library of the Gdańsk University of Technology is the largest and most modern technical scientific library in northern Poland. It provides access to academic textbooks and scripts, Polish and foreign books and scientific journals, standardisation, technical and commercial literature and databases. It also has collections of museum objects and documents relating to the history of the Gdańsk University of Technology.

Open Access

Open Access (OA) publications are works that any Internet user has the possibility of free and technically unrestricted access to. Open Access to scientific publications is one of the key elements – along with open research data, open research methods and protocols, open access to tools and any materials necessary to replicate a given study, open software, open lab notebook (a.k.a. open notebook, open research notebook), open reviews and open educational resources – that make up openness in science.

On-line databases on Gdańsk Tech

The database users can be students, PhD students and employees of the Gdańsk University of Technology. Access to databases is possible from all computers located at the Gdańsk University of Technology, connected to the university computer network. If you are using a computer at the Gdańsk Tech system will connect us directly with the desired database.

Gdańsk Tech opens a new field of study together with the Gdynia Maritime University

On Friday, 25 June Gdańsk University of Technology and the Gdynia Maritime University concluded an agreement on the creation of an inter-university second-cycle study program: Offshore Wind Energy.

Gdańsk University of Technology, as a leading scientific and research center in the field of ocean engineering in Poland, meets market trends and focuses on even better and more effective expansion of the knowledge and competences of its students and scientists. Together with the partner center - Gdynia Maritime University - it will create an innovative, inter-university field of study educating experts in the field of offshore wind energy.
