Admissions to the Doctoral School for the AY 2025/2026

We would like to inform you that according to the admissions schedule* the standard admission for AY. 2025/2026 to the Doctoral School conducted jointly by the Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) and the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences will start in mid-April 2025.

Meeting of the Young Researchers Team

On October 28th, the first meeting of the Young Researchers Team for the 2024-2028 term took place.

We kicked off with a brainstorming session to outline the vision, priorities, and action plan for the Team's activities. Our commitment is to support the professional development of young scientists at Gdańsk University of Technology, while working to minimize and eliminate barriers that hinder their work and limit their growth at GUT.

About Personalized Education at ICEQ

In Katowice – the European City of Science 2024 – the 3rd International Congress on Education Quality (ICEQ) has concluded. During the Congress, representatives from the "Universities of the Future" Project Team, including Gdańsk University of Technology, discussed the role of universities in contemporary education, as well as the expectations of students and the job market. The National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) presented its vision for personalized education.

The Congress was organized by the universities within the Academic Consortium – Katowice City of Science, with the National Center for Research and Development as the event’s substantive partner. During the event, Martyna Kozłowska-Żukowska, the project manager of "Universities of the Future," introduced the project funded by European Funds within the European Social Development Funds Program (FERS) and participated in a discussion about the possibilities for systemic personalization in education.

Revised Academic Staff Recruitment Policy from December 2024

Effective December 1, 2024, Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) will implement a new Academic Staff Recruitment Policy, based on open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment principles, known as the OTM-R Policy (Open, Transparent, and Merit-based Recruitment of Researchers Policy, OTM-R Policy). This policy was introduced by Rector’s Directive No. 41/2024.

The aim of the OTM-R Policy is to provide equal opportunities, fair treatment, and equal access to all candidates, both domestic and international, applying for academic positions at Gdańsk University of Technology.

Extension of call in the Titanium program (till 22.11.24)

 The TITANIUM program is an element of the tasks of the IDUB program in the scope of increasing the transfer of knowledge and technology.

For whom?

An application for funding may be submitted by an employee, doctoral student or student of the Gdansk University of Technology.

Co-financing may be granted only for activities concerning inventions to which the University will be entitled - in whole or in part - to property rights, and the University is not subject to restrictions on the commercial use of the invention.

Gdańsk Tech and the Lost Elven Scrolls - a field game

The Gdańsk Tech Library and the Institute of Applied Mathematics (Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics), invite everyone, especially first-year students, to join an exciting field game titled "Gdańsk University of Technology and the Lost Elven Scrolls" ("Politechnika Gdańska i zaginione zwoje elfów"). The game is only in Polish.

Inspired by themes from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, the game has already started and will run until December 14 this year.

New Spokesperson at Gdańsk University of Technology

Adam
Adam Lecibil is the new spokesperson at Gdańsk University of Technology. He is a long-time journalist with extensive experience in communication. He will be responsible for shaping the university's image, building relations with the media and the academic community.

Adam Lecibil was born in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, where he started working at Radio Park fm as a teenager. He was a journalist and presenter, covering numerous events, both regional and national.

As a reporter for Radio Opole, he covered local government, social and educational issues. He has always been with people and close to people. He has been associated with the media for a dozen or so years. He has also cooperated with national radio stations.

IEEE Workshops: search techniques and publishing aspects

Please join us on 27 November for an IEEE workshop consisting of two thematic sessions at:

  • 1000-1040: Techniques for Effective Searching in the IEEE Xplore
  • 1100-1230: How to Get Published with IEEE and Open Access at IEEE

The workshop will discuss search strategies on the IEEE Xplore platform and issues related to preparing an article for publication in IEEE in the context of improving the visibility of one's research. Including in detail:
