Laureate of the Nobel Prize to speak at the Congress of Polish Physicists

A number of scientific sessions, a discussion panel on the condition of teaching physics in Polish schools, presentations and lectures for school youth, as well as good practice bazaar for teachers – these are only some of the events in the rich program of the 48^th Congress of Polish Physicists, starting on 1 September in Gdańsk. Participants will be taken on a journey through the wonderful world of quanta by Anton Zeilinger, a winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, who will give an online lecture broadcast live at Gdańsk Tech.

The event, which will take place between 1-7 September, is organized by Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Physical Society, the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of Gdańsk University of Technology and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science of the University of Gdańsk.

The Doctoral Summer School "Advances in Functional Materials"

The Doctoral Summer School "Advances in Functional Materials" organized by the Advanced Materials Center Gdańsk Tech within the SPINNAKER program has been finished on 25.08.2023. The school graduated 45 students from 21 countries. CMP would like to thank the attendees for their active participation, the lecturers for their inspiring lectures, the co-chairs Prof. Justyna Łuczak and Prof. Tomasz Klimczuk for preparing and running the school program, and the project manager Dr. Justyna Szostak for its organization.

Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt Scholarship

The scholarship program of DBU offers the opportunity to undertake scientific or professional internships in Germany. Its aim is to provide professional training to Polish future professionals dedicated to environmental causes.

The offer is directed, among others, to PhD students pursuing projects in disciplines such as Earth and Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Forestry Sciences, Agriculture and Horticulture, Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management, Architecture and Urban Planning, and Biotechnology.

ENHANCE invites - staff week on intercultural skills

Employees of Gdańsk University of Technology can apply now to participate in the ENHANCE Staff Week “Enhancing intercultural skills for the international workplace” which will take place from October 16-20at RWTH Aachen University (Germany). The topic of the staff week is Internationalisation@home.

In 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology joined the ENHANCE Alliance - an association of 10 European technical universities. Thanks to the presence at ENHANCE, students and employees of Gdańsk Tech have the opportunity to participate in staff weeks, winter and summer schools, seminars and other interesting events on various topics. The next such an event will be organized by RWTH Aachen University (Germany) in October.

Time of intensive development. Aleksandra Laska graduated from the Doctoral School

Aleksandra Laska - second graduate to complete the Doctoral School of Gdańsk University of Technology in the new doctoral education system, scientifically affiliated with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology began her training in the a.y. 2019/2020, under the supervision of prof. Marek Szkodo from the Institute of Manufacturing and Materials Technology.

Early Career Researcher Day at Gdańsk University of Technology

We cordially invite the employees, PhD students and students of Gdańsk University of Technology to participate in 1^st Early Career Researcher Day, which takes place in Conference Room of Hydromechanika building No. 11, on September 14^th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The event will be an excellent opportunity to integrate our researcher community.

As part of the Early Career Researcher Day, a general lecture on science issues: "What have I been taught by talking about science for 15 years?" by Dawid Myśliwiec of "Naukowy Bełkot" is to be presented. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions that will be answered by Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech. Simultaneously, during the event, scientific dating will be an occasion to exchange knowledge and experience as well as to establish scientific cooperation.

Summary of the 24th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research

The 24th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research (dg.o 2023) took place at the Gdańsk University of Technology from 11 to 14 July 2023.

Theme

The conference was held under the theme “Together in the unstable world: Digital government and solidarity”. The choice of the theme responded to the Gdańsk’s solidarity tradition and the unprecedented levels of instability due to war, pandemic, global warming, democratic breakup, and other causes facing the world in 2023. As no government can deal with the causes and consequences of such instability alone, the response shifts from whole-of-government to whole-of-society.
