Bisacridines, active anticancer compounds in 3D cell cultures - graduate profile

Jolanta Kulesza - scientifically affiliated with the Faculty of Chemistry, began her training in the a.y. 2019/2020, under the supervision of prof. Ewa Augustin from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biochemistry.

She submitted and defended her PhD thesis in the discipline of chemical sciences [NCh], entitled. "Comparison of 2D and 3D culture models in the study of the biological response induced by unsymmetrical bisacridines in cancer cells".

Jolanta Kulesza, a graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, used spheroids, i.e. 3D cell cultures, in her doctoral thesis to evaluate anticancer compounds in conditions similar to those found in cancer tumors.

Doctoral dissertation entitled "Comparison of 2D and 3D culture models in the study of the biological response induced by unsymmetrical bisacridines in cancer cells" was written under the supervision of Prof. Ewa Augustin from the Department of Drug Technology and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry.

The international scientific conference TIG2024 (Technology, Innovation, and Growth 2024) will take place at Gdańsk University of Technology on May 23-24, 2024. The conference will bring together researchers—economists, sociologists, political scientists, and engineers—analyzing technological connections in the global economy, sources of economic growth, and changes in labor markets due to technological development.

Distinguished economists will deliver keynote lectures: Prof. Holger Görg (Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Germany), Prof. Klaus Prettner (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria), Prof. Francesco Venturini (University of Perugia, Italy), and Prof. Jakub Growiec (Warsaw School of Economics). The conference will also feature the presentation of research results by the team led by Dr. habil. Eng.

Announcement of the results of the 6th edition of Radium Learning Through Research Programs

Radium

Fourteen creative projects designed to support particularly talented students engaging in research activities in topics related to priority research areas have received funding under the RADIUM LEARNING THROUGH RESEARCH PROGRAMS for a total value of more than PLN 328,580.

Implementation of the projects will make it possible to finance the costs of ongoing research by second-level students in Individual Research Studies.
