HR4R Strategy for 2022-2025 - announced

Strategy

On 18 November 2022, the Rector of Gdańsk Tech introduced the HR4R Strategy for 2022-2025 (RR 74/2022). The strategy includes a plan of nearly 30 actions for the scientific community and Gdańsk Tech employees, along with a schedule for their implementation. It also indicates people and units responsible for introducing changes and defines action indicators.
The current Strategy is the result of cooperation and commitment of about 500 employees and doctoral students of our University. It includes the following:

For citizens of EU/EFTA

PhD students who are citizens of a Member State of the European Union or a Member State of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) - parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, residing in the territory of that State may benefit from healthcare on the same terms as Polish insured persons, provided they have a current European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) issued in the country of origin.

Third party and accident insurance

For foreigners, the insurance companies cooperating with Gdańsk Tech do not offer dedicated third-party liability and accident insurance plans. However, it is possible to purchase insurance from a private insurance broker (private insurance). Third-party liability and accident insurance is voluntary and must be purchased individually by the PhD student.

Social insurance

The PhD student at the doctoral school (doctoral scholarship) is subject to compulsory social insurance in the field of retirement and disability pension contributions as well as accident insurance. Sickness contribution is voluntary, and because it will reduce the amount of scholarship paid, we do not recommend doctoral students to apply for it.
