On 25 November, during ENHANCE Leadership Meeting in Aachen, the authorities of three universities received signed Memorandums of Understanding. Apart from Gdańsk University of Technology, new members included Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and ETH Zurich (Switzerland).

Entering into the Alliance entails increased cooperation within the scope of research and teaching, aimed at forming a technical university with the highest level of education. Excellence in teaching and research at Gdańsk University of Technology resulted in an invitation to join the Alliance, where each student, doctoral student and employee is a valuable member of the new academic society.  The member universities bring unique strengths into the Alliance, mutually enhancing and diversifying the offered services of the consortium.

The Memorandum of Understanding is a formal basis for joint initiatives of the ENHANCE members, thus the ceremony of handing in the document is an important and symbolic event for the new partners.

At RWTH Aachen, Gdańsk University of Technology was represented by the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation, Prof. Janusz Nieznański, and Justyna Sudakowska, M.A., from the International Relations Office.

– We wish to have a tangible contribution to the development of ENHANCE – as a truly integrated and full-featured European University – having meaningful societal impact in the EU and reaching beyond the union to help less favoured regions build their capacities –  says Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech.
