Award for the position of Gdańsk University of Technology in the international ranking THE WUR
During the gala accompanying the LUMEN 2023 conference, prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, Vice-Rector for Organization and Development, received the award for Gdańsk University of Technology's result in the international THE WUR (World University Rankings) ranking.
THE WUR ranking is one of the most famous and prestigious university rankings in the world. It evaluates universities in terms of scientific and organizational achievements, quality of teaching and cooperation with the economic environment. Only the best universities from around the world, which meet, among others the condition of publishing at least 1,000 research papers of appropriate quality in the last 5 years, qualify for the ranking.
Let us remind you that in THE WUR 2024 ranking Gdańsk University of Technology improved its position from last year and took position 1001-1200. It therefore took 5th place (together with 9 other Polish universities) among 37 Polish universities classified in the ranking. Our university increased the number of points in all five evaluation criteria in the ranking (teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, internationalization) and achieved a total score in the range of 28.3-32.6 points.
THE WUR certificates were awarded during LUMEN 2023 - a two-day conference devoted to the problems of higher education management in Poland, organized by PCG Academia, Times Higher Education and the Polish Rectors Foundation.
