Benefits are awarded by the scholarship committee and the appeals scholarship committee, which are appointed by the rector at the request of the student government. Students make up the majority of the committees.
Benefits from the Scholarship Fund, i.e. maintenance scholarship, scholarship for the disabled, hardship scholarship, rector's scholarship, are available to students in first-cycle, second-cycle and uniform-cycle studies. A student studying several fields of study at the same time may receive benefits only in one field of study indicated by them.
The student is not entitled to benefits if:
- they are holding the professional title of MSc, MSc Eng. or equivalent;
- they are holding a bachelor's, engineer or equivalent degree, if they take up first-cycle studies;
- they are studying over 12 semesters;
- they are studying over 9 semesters in first-cycle studies.
To the above-mentioned periods include all semesters commenced by the student and semesters falling within the period of the leave; periods of first-cycle studies after obtaining a bachelor's, engineer's or equivalent degree are not counted. The exception is the situation when the disability appeared during studies or after obtaining a professional title - the scholarship for disabled people is granted for an additional period of 12 semesters.
