Scholarship for higher-year students - for academic results and scientific, artistic or sport achievements

The rector's scholarshipfor higher-year students is awarded on the basis of the sum of the points obtained. The scholarship is awarded to a certain percentage of the best students in a given field of study, which is established at the beginning of the academic year (but not more than 10%). The average grade, scientific, artistic and sport achievements are taken into account. The catalog of achievements, as well as their exact scores are specified in the Benefit rules for the Students of Gdańsk University of Technology. There you can also find information on the allocation of the scholarship pool into semesters, specialties, etc.

The sum of points is calculated using the following formula:

Number of points = 0,25 * x1 + 0,25 * x2 + 0,25 * x+ 0,25 * x4

where:
x1 - points obtained for high grade average;

x2 - points obtained for scientific achievements;
x3 - points obtained for artistic achievements;
x4 – points obtained for sports achievements in competition at least at the national level.

A maximum of 100 points can be obtained in each criterion.

The factor x1 is derived from an average of 3,800 using the formula:

x1 = (x - 3.799) * (100 / 1.201)

where:
x - average grade obtained by the student; for an average below 3,800, the factor x1 is 0.

You can apply for the rector's scholarship at first-cycle studies once in an academic year and it is granted for two semesters (except for the last semester of 7-semester studies). In the second-cycle studies you can apply for the scholarship every semester and it is granted for the period of one semester.

Important rules
  1. A student of the first semester of second-cycle studies may apply for a rector's scholarship within 15 months of completing first-cycle studies.
  2. If a student applies for a scholarship based on grades obtained at another university, it is necessary to attach a diploma supplement to the application.
  3. The average is not calculated in the process of awarding the rector's scholarship if the student fails in any of the subjects (grade 2 or no grade) taken in the semesters on the basis of which the student applies for the scholarship.
  4. Grades from the last two semesters in the case of first-cycle studies and from the last one semester in the case of second-cycle studies are taken into account. The exception are students in the first semester of second-cycle studies whose last year of first-cycle studies lasted 2 semesters (both last semesters are taken into account).
  5. The average grade is taken as of October 31 - in the case of applying for a scholarship for the winter semester and as of March 12 - in the case of applying for the summer semester. If for some reason you still do not have all the grades entered, please contact us by e-mail.
  6. Achievements from the last two semesters are taken into account.
  7. Remember to carefully complete the application form in the MojaPG system. If you do not report your achievements, they will not be assessed. The more precisely you do this, the less chance there is of a Committee error and the need to appeal.
  8. In the case of sports achievements, the single highest-scoring achievement in a given discipline is taken into account. They are assessed by the Academic Sports Center, and the Center's decision is binding on the Committee. The condition for awarding points for sports achievements is the student's impeccable attitude as a sportperson (also assessed by ASC).
