Offshore Wind Energy Center

Wind farm
The Center brings together outstanding specialists from all areas of knowledge related to offshore wind energy and has a highly specialized laboratory base that enables detailed identification of many technical and organizational problems in the construction and operation of offshore wind farms. The team of scientists gathered in the center also has experience and didactic achievements in specialist and managerial training of the engineering and managerial staff of the broadly understood offshore wind energy sector.

The Center offers scientific support in the field of design, manufacturing technology, operation of offshore wind farms, conducts research, advises on how to solve technical issues, and trains management and engineering staff.

The Center's activities are focused on the following research areas:

Instructions

Pursuant to the Rector's Decree No. 10/2018 on occupational health and safety at Gdańsk University of Technology, heads of organizational units are required to organize workstations in accordance with the provisions and principles of occupational health and safety. Organization of work should include the development of workplace instructions, instructions for the safe use of equipment and devices.

Risk Assessment

Occupational risk is the probability of the occurrence of undesirable work-related events causing losses, in particular the occurrence of adverse health effects in employees as a result of occupational hazards occurring in the work environment or the manner of performing work.

Conducting and documenting the occupational risk assessment is the duty of the organizational unit where the assessed job position is located.

Risk assessment is carried out by teams appointed separately in each organizational unit.

The act of emergency medical services

First aid obligation

Article 4 of the Act of 8 September 2006 on the State Emergency Medical Services (consolidated text, Journal of Laws 2017, item 2195, as amended) indicates:

Whoever notices a person or persons in a state of sudden health emergency or witnesses an event causing such a state, is obliged to immediately take actions aimed at effective notification of this event to entities established by law to help people in a state of sudden health threat .

Basic fire safety prohibitions


On the premises and in the facilities administered and used by Gdańsk University of Technology, it is prohibited to:
1. Use open fire and smoke in the University and in facilities except for rooms and places intended for this purpose.
2. Perform work with a potential for fire ignition or explosion without proper security and supervision.
3. Close the emergency door in a way that prevents its immediate use in the event of a fire or other hazard requiring evacuation.
