The Rector and Senate of the Gdańsk Tech
2nd meeting of the Future Universities team
On 18 December 18 2024, the second meeting of the university team of ‘Future Universities, project was held. Its purpose was to discuss the project implementation schedule, promotional activities plan, and present tasks and work schedule of the university project team.
A detailed schedule of preparation for the introduction of the personalized education model (MES) at all partner universities and actions taken at the level of the consortium Project Team were discussed, including work on the Regulations for recruitment and participation of students in the Project.
According to the university team, at the stage of student recruitment, it is important to reach potential beneficiaries of the Project and to strengthen their competences in creating ideas and openness to implementing these ideas.
3rd meeting of the Young Researchers Team
On 13 December 2024, the third and Christmas Eve meeting of the Young Researchers Team took place.
We discussed ideas for new IDUB programs supporting the development of young scientists, as well as establishing cooperation with Gdańsk Tech Startup School GTS2. We prepared an information plan and the launch of a survey in 2025, examining the barriers facing young researchers at Gdańsk Tech after 2 years from the previous survey. We ended the meeting with integration in a pre-Christmas atmosphere.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 January 2025.
Call for applications in the Polonium program (19.12.24-06.01.25)
The aim of the Polonium program is to increase the effectiveness of the university in attracting the most talented candidates from outside Poland to study at the PhD School at the Gdansk University of Technology.

EBSCO Discovery Service user interface 50 mins
We'll take a look at some of the improvements in the updated EDS interface, including personalized dashboards, modern result lists, greater citing and sharing options and enhanced detailed record features. The updated Publication Finder and new Concept Map integrations will also be demonstrated, along with a review of helpful resources available from EBSCO Connect to assist you.
New EBSCOhost Demonstration & Open Questions
We'll take a look at the improvements in the new EBSCOHost interface, including personalised dashboards, modern result lists, greater citing and sharing options. We will review the resources available from EBSCO Connect to assist in the migration. The Webinar will also be an ideal opportunity to ask any questions or discus any concerns you may have.
Cooperation between Energa and Gdańsk Tech
Exchange of experience and knowledge and implementation of common business, research and educational goals. These are the assumptions of the cooperation agreement signed by Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa.
Gdańsk University of Technology and Energa signed a cooperation agreement with a view to developing and integrating the scientific, research and teaching environment with the economic environment, which aims to accelerate the implementation of innovative technological solutions. Joint activities assume increased innovation and technological development in the field of energy.
Ready for technological revolution. Visit of the Deputy Minister for Digital Affairs
The authorities of Gdańsk University of Technology met with Deputy Minister for Digital Affairs Dariusz Standerski. They discussed plans to launch a quantum computer with enormous computing power. This will provide the university with many completely new opportunities. The meeting, as part of the series "Key development challenges of Pomerania", brought together representatives of the parliament, industry, scientists, and experts in various fields. It was organized by "Employers of Pomerania" and Gdańsk University of Technology.
- Gdańsk University of Technology did a very good job and it is ready for a technological revolution. Centers such as the Gdańsk Kraken will be of key importance for the Polish economy, which is why it is so important to expand computing power using a quantum computer. We are making every effort to ensure that new quantum computers are created in the most important academic, scientific and economic centers, including here in Gdańsk - emphasized Deputy Minister Dariusz Standerski.
