A researcher from the Gdańsk Tech in a team awarded a prestigious NASA prize

Wojciech Wojnowski, PhD, Eng., from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology, is among the recipients of the prestigious NASA Group Achievement Award. The award was presented to the team behind the international scientific mission ASIA-AQ – Airborne and Satellite Investigation of Asian Air Quality, dedicated to comprehensive research into air quality in Asia. The award is one of NASA’s highest honours for teams that have made an exceptional contribution to the agency’s missions and the advancement of scientific research.

ASIA-AQ was a groundbreaking international research initiative focused on air quality in Asia. It aimed to compile the most comprehensive dataset to date on atmospheric pollution, using measurements taken from aircraft, satellites and ground-based stations. The research covered four countries: South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan. The mission itself took just over two months – from February to April 2024.

Building Bridges: An International Webinar on Cooperation with Ukraine

On 15 May 2026, an international webinar titled “Building Bridges: Best Practices and Joint Projects with Ukraine” will take place as part of the ENHANCE Task Force Ukraine initiative. The event aims to foster the exchange of experiences and showcase best practices in academic cooperation with Ukraine.

The webinar is organized by the Warsaw University of Technology in collaboration with European partner institutions, including universities from Berlin, Valencia, and the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” It will provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the development of new international projects. Students, academic staff, and all individuals interested in international cooperation and support for Ukraine in the fields of education and research are warmly invited to participate.

ASEM-DUO Korea 2026 – Call for Applications for a Scholarship Programme for European Students

The call for applications has opened for the prestigious ASEM-DUO Fellowship Programme – DUO-Korea 2026, which aims to support international academic exchange between European countries and the Republic of Korea. Funded by the Korean Ministry of Education, the programme has for years enabled students to gain valuable educational experience abroad.

The application period for the 2026 edition runs from 3 April 2026 to 20 May 2026 (Korean local time).

What is the programme about?

The DUO-Korea programme was launched in 2001 to promote cooperation and exchange between member countries of ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting). Initially, it included various academic groups such as professors and teachers; however, since 2009 it has primarily focused on supporting student exchanges.
