Ex libris for the 120th anniversary of the Gdańsk Tech University

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the existence of the Gdańsk University of Technology, a commemorative ex libris has been created. The artistic depiction of the main University building highlights the distinctive architectural details that identify it within the city space. This unique ex libris will be placed on books purchased and received as gifts by the Library of the Gdańsk University of Technology during the anniversary year, giving them a unique character.

Summer School in Latvia - registration until 1 July

Riga Technical University - the largest university in Latvia and one of the oldest technical universities in Europe, invites students to participate in Summer School Applications will be collected until 1 July. The number of vacancies is limited.   

So far, 1500 participants from all over the world have participated in summer and winter schools organized by Riga Technical University since 2000. Next year's edition will take place from 22 July to 25 August. We invite bachelor’s degree and master’s degree students, as well as doctoral students to participate in the event. 

Interplay between DNA and proteins in the research of a graduate of the Doctoral School

Kazi
Kazi Amirul Hossain is another graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology. His doctoral thesis in chemical sciences concerns the relationship between DNA and proteins and their interactions.

The doctoral thesis entitled "Unraveling the Interplay between DNA and Proteins: A Computational Exploration of Sequence and Structure-Specific Recognition Mechanisms" was written under the supervision of prof. Jacek Czub from the Department of Physical Chemistry.

Over PLN 800,000 for a cooperation project with Ukraine

Gdańsk Tech has received over PLN 800,000 in funding from Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) for the implementation of a project aimed at supporting partner universities in Ukraine. The tasks will be coordinated by the International Relations Office.

At the end of last year, Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange decided to allocate additional funds to Polish universities to strengthen collaboration with Ukrainian universities. Universities that are members of the European Universities Initiative, including Gdańsk Tech as a member of the ENHANCE Alliance, were eligible to apply for project funding.

The 15th Seminar of Advanced Materials Center

The fifteenth seminar of the Advanced Materials Center will be held on February 5th at 13:15 am in Auditorium 1L of WETI B (Building 42). Prof. Kamila Sadowska, Nałęcz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering PAS, will give a lecture entitled "Hybrid nanoflowers - from fundamentals to applications". After the seminar pizza will be served.

The National Agency of the Erasmus+ Program and the European Solidarity Corps invites to a webinar on Cooperation Partnerships for higher education, which will take place on Thursday, 25 January at 12:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. You can register for the webinar until 22 January. 

The aim of the webinar is to show examples of Partnerships Cooperation projects for higher education in Erasmus+ 2021-2027 program and to answer questions about submitting applications for Partnerships in the 2024 call (application submission deadline - 5 March). More on Cooperation Partnership is available here: erasmus-plus.

Funding for student group mobility to Germany - apply (deadline: 1.02)

DAAD scholarships
German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst / DAAD) invites academic teachers to apply for student group funding for mobility to Germany. Nearest intake lasts until 1 February. 

The program offered by DAAD to interdisciplinary student groups (under supervision of academic teachers), enables the students to establish and maintain contact with German universities, to exchange knowledge and experiences during their mobility to at least two universities, to meet with German academic teachers and students, and to learn information on German economy, politics and culture.
