Jean Monnet Program - informational webinar (registration until January 4th)

The National Agency for the Erasmus+ Program and European Solidarity Corps invites participation in a webinar on the call for proposals for the "Jean Monnet" action (part of the Erasmus+ program) in 2024. The meeting will take place on Thursday, January 11, but registration for the event is only open until January 4.

The European Commission initiated the "Jean Monnet" actions in 1989 to support outstanding achievements in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide. These actions have always been directed towards higher education institutions. Approximately 9,000 academics and over 1,000 universities in about 100 countries have received financial support, enabling them to integrate new content in European studies into their curricula.

Open call: Erasmus+ cooperation with third countries (open until January 15th)

The International Relations Office encourages faculties to participate in a project related to the mobility of students and staff within the Erasmus+ program - cooperation with non-associated countries. The deadline for submitting applications is January 15.

In early 2024, Gdańsk University of Technology will again apply for funding for student mobility (outgoing/incoming for studies and internships) and staff mobility (outgoing/incoming for training and lectures) within the Erasmus+ program - cooperation with third countries, non-associated (known as KA171).

The list of countries eligible for funding includes over 170 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and North America, plus Australia, divided into 12 regions. The list of countries covered by the project can be found here: 

Run for Fun. Several hundred people running together round the campus

Nearly three hundred participants took part in the first "Run for Fun" race, which took place on 18 December on the campus of Gdańsk University of Technology.

Employees and students of Gdańsk University of Technology, as well as representatives of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk took part in the run.

– Run and have great fun, the weather has been arranged especially for you – said Prof Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech at the beginning of the race.

Call for applications in the 4rd edition of the Radon Supporting Most Talented Students program (15.12.23-15.01.2024)

Radon

The Radon program is part of the implementation of the IDUB program's tasks to improve the quality of student education, particularly in the fields and disciplines of study related to the university's priority research areas (PRAs).

The application must be submitted only in electronic form through the MojaPG system in the Grants Module.

Electoral technologies. Prof. David Duenas-Cid on OSCE mission to Kazakhstan

Prof. David Duenas-Cid, Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics in Management, Faculty of Management and Economics, was on a mission to Astana, Kazakhstan on 5-8 December 2023 as an Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) expert on electoral technologies.

During the mission, he participated in the International Conference on Constitutional Reform and Electoral System, organized on the 30th anniversary of the Kazakhstan's Central Electoral Committee.

Our PhD student has become a holder of a the Fulbright Junior Research Award

Mgr inż. Jakub Baczynski-Keller, will travel to the United States for a six-month internship thanks to a prestigious Fulbright Junior Research Award 2024-2025, during which he will conduct research on nervous system regeneration. The PhD student scientifically affiliated with the Faculty of Chemistry, started his training at our Doctoral School in the academic year 2022/2023, under the supervision of prof. dr hab. inż. Paweł Sachadyn.

One of Gdańsk Tech teams on FarU Hackathon

A team of employees from Gdańsk University of Technology, including three representatives from the International Relations Office, worked on ideas for an Accessibility Center. The initiative was part of the first hackathon organized by the Fahrenheit Union of Universities on 17-19 November 2023.

Fifteen teams composed of employees, doctoral students, and students of Gdańsk University of Technology, University of Gdańsk, and Medical University of Gdańsk took part in the first hackathon organized by FarU. The purpose of the event was to develop innovative solutions within one of five thematic areas: the ecosystem of cooperation within FarU and Pomerania, civilization changes, energy and sustainable development, food safety and quality, and FarU for the sea.
