Gdańsk University of Technology is a signatory of "Race to Zero"

Race to Zero
Gdańsk University of Technology is one of four Polish universities that have joined the global "Race to Zero" campaign supported by the United Nations.

"Race to Zero" is a global campaign that unites enterprises, educational institutes, including universities, cities and regions around a common goal which is planning and implementing activities leading to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Summer school on sustainability - sign up (deadline: July 31)

We encourage students of Gdańsk University of Technology to participate in the online summer school dedicated to sustainable development (August 22-24). The event is organized by universities from Germany. Registration lasts until July 31.

SustainMV Online is the 3-day online programme of international summer school jointly presented by all universities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MV), in the North-East of Germany. The overarching theme for this unique event is sustainability – with a focus on ecosystems, tourism, renewable energies, digital and technological innovations, recycling and waste management. Academics from all MV universities, who are all experts in their respective fields, will present their work and research.

Early Career Researcher Day

The Early Career Researcher Picnic is one of the projects that response to the university employees’ and PhD students’ needs. It is a place of integration, initiation and strengthening of cooperation, as well as exchange of information between researchers at the early, but not only, stage of their career.

Young Researchers Picnic will take place on June 27, 2024.

Announcement of the results of the 5th edition of Radium Learning Through Research Programs

Thirteen creative projects designed to support particularly talented students engaging in research activities in topics related to priority research areas have received funding under the program for a total of PLN 302,512.  

Implementation of the projects will make it possible to finance the costs of ongoing research by second-level students in Individual Research Studies.

In the completed call, the following projects received funding:

1. Use of DeepEutecticSolvents (DES) in the absorption process of purification of a model biogas stream from volatile organosulfur pollutants (VOCs)

Over PLN 20 million for Gdańsk Tech as part of co-financing from the Ministry of Education and Science

The implementation of the BioMed Lab project and the modernization of the building of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering are two projects that received funding from the Ministry of Education and Science. Gdańsk University of Technology received over PLN 14 and 6 million, respectively, for that purpose.

Granted funding in the total amount of over PLN 20 million will allow for the implementation of further investments related to the university's scientific activity.

EUA-IEP International Evaluation

For the second time, Gdańsk University of Technology confirmed its competences in "European University Association - Institutional Evaluation Programme" (EUA-IEP).

The IEP steering committee extended the right to use the EUA-IEP distinction for another 5 years. The first evaluation took place in September 2018.

Based on self-evaluation report and the visit of the evaluation team to Gdańsk Tech on March 20-24, 2023, among the changes introduced at Gdańsk Tech in the past 5 years, the following were particularly appreciated:
