First aid training offered by the HR Center

Until June this year, employees and PhD students can take advantage of the first aid training offer.

The trainings will be conducted in the form of practical workshops by experienced and active instructors - paramedics.

The participants will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in providing first aid in life-threatening situations and receive a certificate confirming completion of the course.

Open training sessions for employees and PhD students who want to take advantage of the offer are organized periodically - every second and fourth Tuesday of the month (until June this year).

We welcome employees, PhD students, and students to participate in a short, 60-minute webinar dedicated to bias management and discrimination prevention, which will take place on Thursday, March 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Prior registration is required. The event is organized as part of the ENHANCE+ project.

"We all have biases. There is nothing wrong with it. Unconscious bias affects everyone. It is important to become aware of own biases. Unconscious bias might lead to discrimination and inequality in some cases when it is not actively managed. This short training will give you the tools that you need."

Invitation to Participate in THE’s Interdisciplinary Science Research Survey

THE Interdisciplinary Science Research Survey
Times Higher Education (THE), the organizer of the international higher education rankings, invites researchers of Gdańsk University of Technology to fill out an Interdisciplinary Science Research Survey.

This survey aims to gather insights from researchers about their own research endeavours, support receives from Gdańsk Tech, and the view about the best institutions in interdisciplinary science research.

It will take around 5 minutes to complete this survey.

ENHANCE+ kick-off meeting

On 22-23 February, over 130 representatives from ten partner universities of ENHANCE Alliance met in Berlin to officially launch ENHANCE+ project. As far as internationalization is concerned, this project is a priority undertaking for Gdańsk University of Technology.

Let’s recall: in November 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology became a member of the ENHANCE Alliance – a consortium of technical universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Poland.  In July 2023, the ENHANCE Alliance received 14,4 million euro from the European funds to run ENHANCE+ project scheduled for the years 2023-2027. The resources were allocated as part of the European Universities call, organized by the European Commission.

ENHANCE invites - "Ethics and Epistemology of AI" course (register by March 10)

"Ethics and Epistemology of AI
TU Berlin invites master's students and doctoral candidates to participate in an interdisciplinary, hybrid course titled "Ethics and Epistemology of AI," which will start on April 17. Registration is open until March 10. Funding from the Erasmus+ program is available for the on-site part of the course.

The "Ethics and Epistemology of AI" course is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Computer Science, Engineering Sciences, and Philosophy of Technology at TU Berlin. Participants will receive a solid foundation of knowledge on issues at the intersection of technology and ethics. They will then be able to apply this knowledge in group work on projects related to current challenges in the use of AI technology in various fields (such as building social relations).

Summer School at the University of Porto - apply by March 29

circular economy
The University of Porto (Portugal) invites master's and PhD students to participate in the 2nd edition of the summer school dedicated to the circular economy, which will take place in a hybrid format (online and on-site) from June 3 to July 12. Applications are accepted until March 29. Erasmus+ funding is available for the trip.

On-site classes will be held at the University of Porto in Portugal.
