We encourage you to explore the new offering of grants and scholarships for researchers and PhD students published by EURAXESS Poland.

EURAXESS Poland is operated within the framework of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. Its aim is to support international mobility and career development for researchers. Each month, on the EURAXESS Poland website, you can find offers of grants and scholarships available to PhD students and academic staff. These offers come from various national and international institutions and organizations from around the world and cover all fields of science.

Learning about the duties of the supervisor at the Doctoral School

The Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology executing the provisions of Gdańsk Tech HR4R Strategy 2022-2025 (Action 28), established solutions to ensure mandatory familiarization of prospective supervisors with the scope of their rights and duties.

Currently, a candidate for a supervisor, by submitting  their candidature in the questionnaire of a prospective supervisor (prior to the start of admissions to the Doctoral School), and then in the declaration of a prospective supervisor to take a certain candidate under their mentorship (submitted during recruitment), declares that they have familiarized themself with:

On 22-23 February, over 130 representatives from ten partner universities of ENHANCE Alliance met in Berlin to officially launch ENHANCE+ project. As far as internationalization is concerned, this project is a priority undertaking for Gdańsk University of Technology.

Let’s recall: in November 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology became a member of the ENHANCE Alliance – a consortium of technical universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Poland.  In July 2023, the ENHANCE Alliance received 14,4 million euro from the European funds to run ENHANCE+ project scheduled for the years 2023-2027. The resources were allocated as part of the European Universities call, organized by the European Commission.

At faculties and doctoral schools

Thanks to the implementation of annual action plans at faculties and doctoral schools, training and meetings are organized on public procurement, project implementation, as well as on writing publications, counteracting mobbing and improving communication. Scientific seminars are conducted.

The authorities of some faculties decided to introduce faculty grants for young researchers, others increased the subsidy for projects for young researchers or introduced teaching discounts and language support.

At the university level

The members of the Team represent young researchers on key visits of representatives of the commission accrediting the University. They participated, among others, in meetings with:

  • European commissioners in the process of assessing Gdańsk Tech in terms of the implementation of the HR4R Strategy and extending the consent to use the HR distinctionin (16.06.2023) and
  • experts from the IDUB mid-term evaluation committee (07.09.2023).

[Update 25.03.2024] [4th-year PhD students] Extension of deadline for submission of doctoral dissertation

Due to the fact that the 4-th year PhD students (enrollment for a.y. 2020/2021) should complete their PhD training and submit the dissertation in approaching semester within the deadline indicated in their Individual Research Proposal (IRP), we kindly remind you that according to the regulations of the school (§23), in justified cases,  the deadline for submitting a doctoral dissertation may be extended at the request of a doctoral student.

Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech has become a member of PRIDE Network and EUA-CDE

Networking
Doctoral School has become a member of two well-known international networks linking doctoral schools: PRIDE Network and EUA (European University Association) – CDE (Council for Doctoral Education)
PRIDE Network – Association for Professionals in Doctoral Education 

The association was founded in 2017 and at the time of publishing this entry has 34 organizational members and 16 individual members from 20 different countries, with our Doctoral School becoming the organization's first member from Poland.
