Chinese New Year - wishes from Gdańsk Tech
Professor Lech Kobyliński was born on 1 May 1923 in Vilnius. He was associated with Gdańsk University of Technology since 1945, initially as a student, and since 1948 as its employee. It is here that he went through all the faculty positions at the university and it is also here where he obtained all his academic degrees. During his many years of work at Gdańsk Tech, although the professor's activity went far beyond its walls, he became known as an outstanding scientist, engineer and good organizer.
The originator of the artistic project is a sculptor, Paweł Sasin, MA from the Department of Visual Arts. It was him and professor Janusz Tkaczuk who faced the challenge of conducting online sculpture classes.

In the framework of the University of Pécs Summer School Program students from all over the world have the opportunity to participate in a face-to-face summer course about Hungarian cultural heritage free of charge!
The recruitment was announced by the Government of the Republic of Latvia (State Education Development Agency). In order to apply for an internship, interested students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral schools should first contact the university in Latvia where they would like to go.
Recruitment for internships will start on February 1 and end on April 1, 2022.

In December 2021, the Center of Maritime Military Technologies of Gdańsk University of Technology and the Polish Armaments Group and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna concluded the so-called confidentiality agreements, which enabled the commencement of talks on the development of technologies for minimizing the physical fields of ships and unmanned underwater vehicles for the Polish Navy.
The project, carried out under the supervision of prof. Jacek Mąkinia from Gdańsk University of Technology and prof. Xiang Li from Donghua University in Shanghai, is a response to the global challenge posed by wasting food and, consequently, the accumulation of food waste. It is estimated that the population of 7 billion generates annually about 1.3 billion tons of food waste, while per household it is respectively 54 kg in Poland (the EU average is 76 kg) and 16 kg in China.
