We are celebrating Erasmus Days

For the fifth time in Europe, we will be celebrating Erasmus Days (14-16 October). For this occasion,  in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network Gdańsk,  the International Relations Office prepared activities in social media with the participation of Polish and international students of Gdańsk Tech.

In 2020, as part of the Erasmus Days celebration, over 5,000 events - webinars, exhibitions, concerts, open days and other meetings, took place in 84 countries. Over 3900 events organized by universities, secondary and primary schools and other Erasmus + program beneficiaries from all over Europe have already been submitted to this year's edition of the event. The aim of Erasmus Days is to promote the effects of the program and its impact on the development of education and higher education in EU countries and partner countries.

Success of Gdańsk urban planners - CRUNCH Time at the Venice Biennale of Architecture

Crunch
An international research team composed among others of scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology presented the results of their research at the prestigious Architecture Biennale in Venice - the most important event in the world of architects. The CRUNCH project aims to forecast the possibilities of innovative use of resources such as water, energy and food in order to manage them more efficiently in the future.  

CRUNCH shows how the Food-Water-Energy Nexus (FWE NEXUS) can enhance the resilience of cities. All the cities involved (Portsmouth, Gdańsk, Miami, Taipei, Eindhoven, Uppsala), taking part in experimental laboratories - Urban Living Laboratories, test and analyze solutions in the urban tissue using various scenarios.

Anything can be measured here! Modern metrology laboratory was opened at Gdańsk Tech

Structural elements of modern machines, cars, airplanes or medical equipment and household appliances are created with increasing precision and complexity of shapes, and very accurate and efficient measuring machines are needed to produce and control them. Since Tuesday, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology of Gdańsk University of Technology has them at their disposal in a newly opened modern metrology laboratory.

On Tuesday, 12 October, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk Tech a modern metrology laboratory was officially opened. Optical 2D and 3D measuring systems and CMM (coordinate) machines are just some of the new equipment donated to Gdańsk University of Technology by the Japanese company Mitutoyo *, a leading manufacturer of measuring equipment in the world. The equipment will soon be used by scientists and Gdańsk Tech students.
