Gdańsk University of Technology implements activities for the local community aimed at promoting science and technology, disseminating culture and supporting educational initiatives, as part of the so-called the third mission of the university.

Alumni

Over 190,000 well-educated graduates have graduated from Gdańsk University of Technology since 1904! Every year, there are about 5 000, i.e. 420 on average per month and 20 on one working day. Most defences take place in October and November, and January and February, and the counter shows their estimated average.

PhD, Eng. Miłosz Wieczór from the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Gdańsk University of Technology is among the scholarship holders of the Polish Science Foundation in the START program, which aims to support outstanding young scientists. What's more, the scientist is currently working at the Barcelona Institute for Biomedical Research, as part of a prestigious postdoctoral research project, on the relationship between DNA damage and modification and broadly understood epigenetics, i.e.

In the latest competition of the National Science Center PRELUDIUM 18, intended for young scientists without a doctoral degree, funding was obtained for the research project Detection and reduction of the impact of data bias using explanatory artificial intelligence, proposed by MSc Eng. Agnieszka Mikołajczyk from the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.
