Professor Wanda Szczepuła is the patron of the new Gdańsk tram

Green currency for Gdańsk - an international pro-environmental project

Greencoin
Greencoin is an alternative currency that will be a kind of reward for the green attitude and pro-environmental activities of the inhabitants of Gdańsk. An international project, carried out under the leadership of MSc. Eng. Arch Kacper Radziszewski from the Faculty of Architecture, has just received PLN 8.5 million in funding from the National Center for Research and Development.

The ‘Greencoin’ research project is an international project, and its implementation will take three years. MSc. Eng. Arch Kacper Radziszewski from the Faculty of Architecture of Gdańsk University of Technology received nearly PLN 8.5 million for its implementation under the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 in the ‘IdeaLab Call for Full Proposals’ competition.

Call for applications in the Titanium program

Titatnium
The main objectives of the Titanium Supporting International Patent Applications program are the implementation of mechanisms for the identification and protection of intellectual property on an international scale of valuable inventions developed at Gdańsk University of Technology.

The TITANIUM program is an element of the tasks of the EIRU program in the scope of increasing the transfer of knowledge and technology. Under the Program, it is possible to obtain funding to cover the costs of activities aimed at obtaining or extending international legal protection for an invention

Addressees of the program

An application for funding may be submitted by an employee, doctoral student or student of Gdańsk University of Technology.

Gdańsk Tech has established cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk

Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology and prof. Krzysztof Polkowski, rector of The Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, signed an agreement under which both universities will establish close cooperation in the organization of the international landscape forum Transforming Cityscape with Art which is going to take place in Gdańsk on 13-17 October.  

The agreement between the two universities was signed by the rectors on Tuesday, 30 March at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In the agreement the rectors committed themselves to close scientific and promotional cooperation as part of the preparation and implementation of the international and interdisciplinary landscape forum Transforming Cityscape with Art.

Call for applications in the Polonium International Doctoral Fellowships scholarship program

The Polonium program is part of the implementation of the tasks of the IDUB project, which aims to increase the university's effectiveness in attracting the most talented candidates from outside Poland for studies at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology. The program grants supplementary scholarships to particularly talented foreign PhD students.  

Scholarship beneficiaries

First-year doctoral students (Poles and foreigners) who, before starting their education at the doctoral school, were permanently residing outside Poland.

Financing conditions

• The scholarship in the program is maximum PLN 5 000 gross per month.

• The scholarship is in addition to the doctoral scholarship.

Seminar of the Baltic Sea Region Universities on the subject of dormitories

Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, vice-rector for development and organization of Gdańsk University of Technology participated in the ‘Re-inventing Students' Housing’ seminar, during which issues related to student accommodation were discussed. The virtual meeting, organized by the Baltic Sea Region University Networks (BSRUN), was attended by members of the network of the Baltic Sea Region Universities. Gdańsk University of Technology actively participates in the activities of this network.

The participants of the seminar, which took place on 25 March, discussed the solutions applicable in their countries and at the universities they represent. Prof. Olli Niemi, a representative of Tampere University from Finland, presented the concept of a modern complex of student dormitories, the construction of which was preceded by research on the needs and expectations of students.
