How to go? Step by step.

Before you start applying for Erasmus + studies, make sure what are the deadlines for submitting documents at your faculty and at the university you want to go to. It is different at individual Gdańsk Tech faculties and foreign universities. The entire application procedure takes about two months, so it's not worth leaving everything to the last minute. All documents must be completed no later than four weeks before departure.

Anna Wałek, PhD, becomes the head of the International Association of University Libraries

During the general assembly of the members of the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) as part of this year's 41st IATUL conference, which took place on 13-15 July 2021 at the University of Porto, Anna Wałek, PhD, director of the Gdańsk University of Technology Library, was appointed president of IATUL. For the first time, the director of a Polish academic library will occupy the highest position in the structures of an international library organization.

The International Association of University Libraries is an international, non-governmental association existing since 1955, serving as a forum for the exchange of experiences and the development of modern library services.

Students created a floating platform on which you can ... have a barbecue

It floats on Jeziorak, the longest lake in Poland, and it can take up to 12 passengers on board. There are sun loungers, chairs, table, fridge, grill and even USB sockets for charging electronic devices. This is "YEAHziorak", a floating platform that was created from scratch by students of Gdańsk University of Technology.

Students of Gdańsk University of Technology (two from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, two from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering), the Warsaw School of Economics and the Sopot University of Applied Sciences took part in the project.

More candidates than last year, even a dozen people per place

Economy; spatial management; business analysis; automatics, cybernetics and robotics as well as yacht design and construction - these are the top five most popular fields of study at Gdańsk University of Technology in the admission procedure for the academic year 2021/2022. A dozen or so people applied for one place in each of these faculties. In turn, the largest number of applications in total was recorded in IT and civil engineering. In total, even more candidates applied for a place in full-time first-cycle studies at Gdańsk Tech than in the previous year - over 23,000. people.

Gdańsk University of Technology is one of the most frequently chosen technical universities in the country. This is confirmed by the admission results for the academic year 2021/2022. There were even more applications for full-time first-cycle studies than last year, as many as 23,127 (22,999 applications were registered during last year's recruitment), and 1,261 people applied for a place in part-time studies.
