Accomodation

International staff and guests are eligible to apply for temporary accomodation in Gdańsk Tech dormitory. For this purpose they need to fill in the application form for and send the scan of signed document to their inviting Faculty. Following, the application is submitted to Vice -Rector for Students Affair.

Legalisation of stay

EU/EFTA citizens

A foreigner is considered a citizen of the European Union in the following cases:
- they are a citizen of a European Union Member State,
- they are a citizen of a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Switzerland.

Staying for up to 90 days: to enter Poland and stay in our country, the citizen of EU ora EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland) needs an identity document (identity card/passport).

Residence

An employee who is coming to Poland for more than 30 days needs to register her/his residence in one of the City Hall branches. In case of the citizens of EU or EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) there are 30 days to do the registration. The rest of the foreign employees needs to register their residence in Poland within 4 days after arrival.

Incoming staff

The International Relations Office coordinates the following programmes for foreign employees who want to come to Gdańsk University of Technology:

1. Erasmus + programmes (visits of academic and support staff)
2. Einsteinium IDUB programme (visits of research staff)

Facts & Figures

Incoming students

1024 foreign students from over 70 countries around the world study at the Gdańsk Tech. Half of them are Erasmus + students. Most foreign students come from Belarus (193), Spain (148), Ukraine (142), India (56), China (56), Russia (54), France (51) and Turkey (50).

The product of prof. Mirosław Gerigk from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology receives a prestigious nomination in the 9th edition of the National Competition "State Security Leader 2021". A multi-functional AUV-Stealth unmanned, underwater platform was awarded.

The nomination for the award is the result of a meeting and presentation at the National Security Bureau, which took place on 18 May 2021.
