GUT Immersive 3D Visualization Laboratory

The Immersive 3D Visualization Laboratory (I3DVL)

It is one of the few such laboratories in the world and the only one in Poland. It is located at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics and has been operating since December 2014. It serves not only Gdańsk University of Technology community, but also companies and external partners. We are talking about the GUT Immersive 3D Visualization Laboratory - the first ‘hero’ of the new cycle: #MiejcaPG/(#Places of GUT).

Gdańsk University of Technology together with the Maritime Office in Gdynia will be among the first institutions to start implementing the international and high-budget InSecTT project - dedicated, among others, to counteracting cyberattacks within the so-called Internet of Things and improving shipping safety. Scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology, among others, will be responsible for the implementation of proprietary technologies developed within the project, whose total value is over EUR 44 million.

The InSecTT (Intelligent Secure Trustable Things) project is an international research initiative based on the Horizon2020 program, which includes the most important companies and scientific institutions from all over Europe (a total of 52 partners from 11 EU countries and Turkey). They develop safe IoT systems (so-called Internet of Things) on a daily basis, supported by solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.

During the last meeting of the current term of the Council of Rectors of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (CRPV), which took place on July 3 at the Conference and Training Center of the University of Gdańsk in Leźno, the members of the council elected prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology as chairman for the 2020-2024 term.

The honorable function of the chairman of the Rectors' Council of the Pomeranian Voivodeship was handed over to prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of GUT, by the resigning chairman of the CRPV, prof. Jerzy Gwizdała, rector of the University of Gdańsk. The vice-presidents of CRPV became: PhD, DSc Krzysztof Polkowski, prof. at the Academy of Fine Arts, rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and prof. Adam Weintrit, rector-elect of the Maritime University of Gdynia.

GUT Rector again among the Academic Sports Association authorities

Professor Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology remains the president of the Academic Sports Association of the Community Organization in Gdańsk for the 2020-2022 term. At the same time, prof. Wilde will be a member of the ASA Main Board for the next two years.

ASA is the largest sports association in the country that has been operating continuously for over a century. It is also the most numerous student organization at Polish universities.

FutureLAB. The new laboratory of GUT for the development of electronic technologies

FutureLAB is a laboratory of new materials, sensors and wireless systems
Gdańsk University of Technology has gained new space for the development of research projects of scientists from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics. Several specialized research positions that will be used by scientists to develop new electronic technologies with wide possibilities of practical applications can be found in the FutureLAB laboratory, which was opened at the beginning of July. 

FutureLAB is a laboratory of new materials, sensors and wireless systems at Gdańsk University of Technology. It will enable technologically advanced research in the field of materials engineering with advanced electronics and technologies for future generation (5G) wireless communication.
