In particularly justified cases, a student may apply for a maintenance scholarship in an increased amount. The Benefit rules for the Students of Gdańsk University of Technology specify two such situations:

- a student growing up in an incomplete family;
- a student raising his or her own or adopted child.

This does not mean, however, that you can apply for an increase only in the above-mentioned cases.

You can apply for an increase in two ways:

  1. When generating an application for a maintenance scholarship the MojaPG system allows you to select the "I am applying for an increase" option in the application form. The application should include a justification and the requested amount of increase and attached documentation to the paper application.
  2. After generating the application or even after receiving the decision to grant a maintenance scholarship - the application should be prepared by yourself in a paper version, including the justification and the amount requested. However, the increase will not be granted backwards.

From the 2019/2020 academic year, in connection with the amendment to the Act, the Committee did not grant an increase due to studying outside the place of residence (the so-called housing allowance).

The amount of the increase is determined together with other thresholds and amounts after the calculation of most applications for a social grant, i.e. at the time of applying according to the schedule, the amount of the maximum increase is not yet known. The student may enter any amount requested in the application. As a general rule, no more than the amount requested by the student will be awarded.
